FIELD: material treatment method and equipment used in different branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves producing ozone-containing gas in ozone generator by silent electric discharge in air or oxygen; increasing density of ozone-containing gas; obtaining ozone saturated aqueous solution (saturated water) under pressure in absorption vessel; reducing inner pressure of saturated water at relaxation zone to cause discharge of gas with high oxygen content (high-energy gas); reducing density of high-energy gas by using gas free of ozone or gas with low oxygen content (below 21%); supplying obtained gas into whitening substance; providing exchange reaction at whitening zone; degassing whitened substance suspension; washing and reprocessing solid particles. Apparatus has ozone generator 1 with oxygen supply pipeline 2, absorption column 4, drier 6 connected through pipeline 7 with ozone generator 1. Absorption column 4 is connected with relaxation vessel 9. Gas chamber of relaxation vessel 9 is connected with whitening column 16 via pipeline 20 for supplying column waste gas into chamber and via pipeline 12 for supplying diluted ozone-containing high-energy gas into whitening column for whitening reaction.
