FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, analyzed are properties of fluids across deposit and boundaries of water-oil zone and non-reservoir zone. At determining quantitative difference in properties of fluids in deposit sections, conclusion is made about presence of two separate deposits. Determined are supposed boundaries of one deposit limiting it over boundary of water-oil zone and supposed boundary between deposits. Found is direction of extending oil deposit towards non-reservoir zone taking into consideration direction of extending oil deposits in region. Wells existing in deposit are operated as producing with transfer of number of wells to injection ones. Direction of injection rows is formed by maximal nearing them to direction which is perpendicular to long axis of new deposit. Arrangement of new pattern of wells is carried out in compliance with newly determined direction of deposit. Wells are operated as producing with gradual transfer of number of wells to injection wells. Analyzed again are properties of fluids across deposit and boundaries of water-oil zone and non-reservoir zone. Defined are new boundaries of deposit and its direction. EFFECT: high efficiency. 1 tbl
