FIELD: measurement technology, solid-state physics, determination of true values of temperature coefficient of linear deformation of metals, alloys and other materials within limits from absolute zero to maximal temperature at which given material keeps elastic properties. SUBSTANCE: for determination of temperature coefficient of linear deformation examined specimen is stabilized in advance by removal of plastically relaxed and by accounting for elastic internal tensions. Then temperature coefficient of linear deformation is measured in two points above and in two points below characteristic temperature.
