FIELD: ophthalmology, pediatrics; prognostication and treatment of myopia. SUBSTANCE: method resides in administering to sick child sulphadimesine in dose 10 mg/kg body weight, followed by subjecting child's blood to analysis upon expiration of some 5.0-5.5 h after administration in order to determine free acetylated sulphadimesine-to-total sulphadimesine ratio, %. If this ratio is below 35%, ophthalmologist makes judgement that such or such child has predisposition to progressive myopia. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
