METHOD OF COMBINED TREATMENT OF QUICKLY PROGRESSING MYOPIA IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B3/10

Abstract RU 2454186 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and is intended for treatment of quickly progressing myopia in children. Values of acoustic density of sclera (ADS) and anterior-posterior axis (APA) of eye are determined during 12 months. If ADS value is lower than 215 Units in posterior eye pole and lower than 210 Units in zone of equator, increase of APA is 0.3 mm and higher, first sclera-reinforcing operation is carried out, and after 1.5-2 months orthokeratologic correction (OKC) is performed. If APA value increases by not more than 0.3 mm during 12 months and ADS value is not less than 215 units in posterior pole of eye and 210 Units in zone of equator, first OKC is performed and after 12 months OKC is stopped, and after 1-2 weeks cleroplasty is performed and after 1.5-2 months OKC is repeated.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to stabilise myopia growth with stopping growth of anterior-posterior (APA) of eye.
