METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING URINE FLOW IN URETHRA Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has tube for discharging urine passing through a balloon inflatable near the urinary bladder neck to produce thickening around the tube. The balloon corresponds in shape to the urinary bladder near the urethra entrance to facilitate sealing effectiveness. Valve is on the outlet end of the tube and air flow tube entering the balloon runs all along the whole length of the urine discharge tube. To inflate the balloon, a device like subcutaneous injection syringe is introduced into the inlet end of the air flow tube. Hydrogel collar is placed close to user body around outlet end of the urethra. The collar maintains sealing contact of the balloon and urinary bladder neck near the urethra outlet. To carry out urine flow control, a part of the balloon is placed close to neck of the uterus forming the thickening.
