TWO-STAGE JET PROPELLER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding; jet propellers for ships and motorboat. SUBSTANCE: two-stage jet propeller has first stage made in form of mixer with elbow-shaped air nozzle and second stage with water supply passages and jet nozzle. Jet nozzle is mounted in first stage after mixer. Second stage is provided with engine exhaust gas supply passage which is connected with water supply passage. Mixer may be provided with 48 holes located at angle relative to its axis. Nozzle apparatus with profiled blades may be mounted in plane of gas supply passage; hull may be provided with water scoop fitted with damper connected with turn lever. EFFECT: increased propulsive thrust and enhanced efficiency of propeller. 4 cl, 2 dwg
