FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has surface positioned above heating thread guides. Thermoplastic thread is directed along heated surface. Thread guides can maintain as high temperature as that of heating surface, in particular, temperature sufficient for self-cleaning without damage to thread. When required, heat flux directed to thread may be set by adjusting height of heating thread guides and/or by changing length of guides and thread contact zone. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of thread by reduced damage to thread. 22 cl, 22 dwg
