FIELD: electric arc low-temperature welding of cast iron; may be used in various branches of national economy. SUBSTANCE: method includes mechanical edge preparation and nonfusion welding. Prior to welding surface of base metal is cleaned with fusing by arc of consumable electrode with temperature of 960-1000 C with obtaining wetted edges. Welding is accomplished by arc of consumable electrode. Method has been tested in reconditioning of iron articles after service, after breakage caused by impact, and in correction of rejected castings even at the stage of finish machining. The test results have shown that strength and workability of weld arc not inferior to the base. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
