FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the manufacture and restoration of parts and tools operating in abrasive and other types of wear. Electric arc surfacing is performed using a consumable electrode. In the welding bath, an electrically insulated filler wire is supplied at an acute angle to the direction of delivery of the melting electrode with a filler made from ultrafine powder of a refractory chemical compound at a distance from the melting electrode, which is selected depending on the parameters of the deposition regime and the thermophysical properties of the weld metal. Filler wire is supplied into the weld pool at a rate providing the powder content of the refractory chemical compound in an amount of 0.2…0.6 % of the weight of the weld metal.
EFFECT: method provides for improved mechanical and operational properties of the weld metal by grinding its structure and forming hardening solid phases therein.
