FIELD: materials handling facilities; hoisting of articles with longitudinal cavities. SUBSTANCE: gripping device has longitudinal beam 1 with detachable cover plates 3 with elastic coating 4 on ends. Contact surface of cover plates is made to suit surface limiting cavity of article 5. Lifting loop 2 is connected with longitudinal beam 1 at angle of 45-90 degrees at distance of 1/3 - 1/4 of its length. Gripping device is driven into vertical holes under cavities and is fastened by upper web of article 5 to be hoisted. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 dwg
