FIELD: magnetically soft amorphous alloys based on cobalt with magnetostriction close to zero; may be used in manufacture of magnetic amplifiers and pulse transformers. SUBSTANCE: magnetically soft amorphous alloy based on cobalt has components in the following amount, amu %: iron, 2-5; chromium, 1-7; silicon, 9-15; boron, 9-15; cobalt, the balance; with sum of silicon and boron components amounting to 21-25 amu %. After heat treatment in longitudinal magnetic field, squareness ratio of square hysteresis loop above 0.8 may be attained in the alloy, and after heat treatment in transverse magnetic field the squareness ratio is less than 0.1.
