FIELD: power-plant mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has case 1, admission pipe 3 and outlet pipe 4, impeller 5, and blades 6 made in the form of continuous helical surfaces embracing impeller 5 over entire circumference and placed in annular channel 2 of case 1. Engine flow path is shaped as infinite closed single- or multiple-pass helical channel whose axis of twisting is circumference 9 passing through space of annular channel 2 and center of circumference is on axis 10 of impeller revolution. When machine is used as internal-combustion engine, holes are made on case periphery which communicate with annular channel and receive spark plugs. Working medium moves in helical channels and continuously acts on blades 6 throughout entire way from inlet to outlet ensuring impeller rotation. In internal-combustion engines, combustible mixture is introduced in flow path wherein it is ignited by electric arc. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 5 cl, 7 dwg
