FIELD: testing technology. SUBSTANCE: closed space is connected to test space, both spaces are filled with compressed gas till they are under test pressure. Leakage is recorded by gas overflow from test space to closed space being tested with the aid of indicator provided with indicating member positioned on line connecting the closed space and test space. Closed space and test space are connected by auxiliary line connected in parallel to main line. After test, pressure is set in closed space auxiliary line is closed, delay time from moment auxiliary line is closed to moment indicating member in indicator starts moving is measured. Leakage value is determined from formula: h = k•Δp/hτ•1/p, where L is leakage, per cent (volume) of compressed gas in closed space per day; k = 1,44•105 is proportionality factor; p is closed space pressure, mm of water column; Δτ is time, min.
