FIELD: testing of casings and reservoirs for airtightness. SUBSTANCE: closed volume is connected to check tank. Both of them are then filled with compressed gas till test pressure is obtained in them. Leakage is determined by gas overflowed from check tank to closed volume under test by means of indicator installed on line connecting the tank and closed volume. Then speed of movement of indicating member in indicator is measured, and leakage value is found from formula L = K•d2/Vch.tW, where L is leakage, per cent (volume) of compressed gas in closed volume a day; K = 6,7824•10-2 is proportionality coefficient; d is indicator channel diameter, mm; Vch.t is check tank capacity, cu. m; W is speed of indicating member movement in indicator, mm/s. Indicator is made as horizontal illuminated channel 15 coupled to doser 16 for delivery of at least on liquid mark 17 to the above- indicated channel as indicating member in quantity sufficient for overlapping of its cross section. Indicator also includes optoelectronic transducer 18 for fixing the mark optical image and its conversion to electric signal. Transducer is connected to computer 7 for calculation of liquid mark movement speed by formula W = dl/dτ. EFFECT: higher test results. 2 cl, 1 dwg
