FIELD: testing methods.
SUBSTANCE: used in leak testing of various shells and tanks. The method consists in filling a closed volume with compressed gas through a line until the test pressure is reached, detecting a leak and determining the value of the integral leakage using a control instrument, while the value of the integral leakage is determined by a mass flow meter that determines the mass flow of gas in real time according to the flow of gas that has passed through a fine adjustment valve installed in the line before the mass flow meter until the test pressure in the closed volume is reached, while the control of the pressure in the closed volume is provided by a pressure regulator installed after the mass flow meter.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measuring the integral leakage from a closed volume, the expansion of production capabilities, and the reduction of labor costs.
