FIELD: food and medicinal industries. SUBSTANCE: method involves raw milling, preliminary extraction of total lipids, repeated extraction of the obtained solid precipitate, combination of extracts followed by filtration and evaporation to fat, multiple extraction of cholesterol from fat and cholesterol crystallization. Preliminary extraction is carried out with a mixture of chloroform and ethanol at ratio raw : chloroform : ethanol = 1:2: 2. The obtained solid precipitate is extracted repeatedly with ethanol at ratio ethanol : precipitate = 5:1. Multiple extraction of cholesterol from fat is carried out with a mixture ethanol : acetone at ratio = (2:0.5)-(3:1) at ratio fat : mixture = (1:3)-(1:5). The combined extracts were filtered, evaporated, dissolved in hot ethanol at temperature below 75 C and at ratio precipitate : ethanol = 1:10, cooled for 3 h at (-5)-(-10) C, filtered and solid precipitate is obtained. Solid precipitate is washed with a mixture alcohol : acetone at ratio = 3:1 and at ratio precipitate : mixture = 1:5. Cholesterol is crystallized at -5 C, not above, for 3-5 h. The end product is used for production of vitamin D, steroid hormones, liquid crystals. EFFECT: improved method of preparing.
