FIELD: filter materials. SUBSTANCE: filter material is prepared on the basis of pressed products from activated coal which can be used for selectively separating organic and inorganic phases through following steps. Particles of activated carbon 1-100 mcm in size are stirred with special-type aluminum oxide at ratio (1-5):1 until homogeneity is attained, whereupon distilled water and then dilute acetic acid are added under vigorous stirring. After repeated addition of distilled water, pellets or similar products are molded under pressure. Finally, pellets or similar products are successively heated from 80 to 100 C for 6-10 h, from 140 to 160 C for 8-10 h, and from 180 to 200 C for 6-10 h.
