FIELD: lining for metallurgical furnaces; filling and heat insulation material in automobile construction, plane manufacturing and ship building. SUBSTANCE: material comprises, w.p.: foamed coke being product of heat treatment of binder on the base of oligomer, preferably, furfuryl alcohol, 98-99; thread-like crystals of high-melting compounds, preferably silicium carbide, 1-2. Compressive strength of desired material is 54-85 kg/cm2, its bending strength being 20-35 kg/cm2. EFFECT: improved quality of desired product. 2 tbl
