FIELD: luminiferous ether. SUBSTANCE: up to now, there has been described no decisive experiment which has reliably proved the presence or absence in the nature of ether - principally because of the possibility of interpreting the results of all previously conducted experiments from thee position, both, of thee ether conception and of the special theory of relativity. The offered device designed for measuring the side drift, caused by possible ether wind, of electromagnetic signals directed to thee receiver by different ways at some angles to velocity of ether wind, allows exclusion of the above-mentioned interpretation of the measurement results from the position of the special theory of relativity, both, in case of the presence of ether in the nature, and in its absence, that is, the offered device realized the decisive experiment in separation of the ether conception and the first postulate of the special theory of relativity. EFFECT: description of the decisive experiment proving the presence of ether in the nature.
