FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to copper/zinc/aluminum catalysts for low-temperature methanol synthesis and low-temperature carbon monoxide conversion. Invention aims at preparing high-activity catalyst exhibiting high stability and mechanical strength. Aim is achieved by way of precipitating copper, zinc, and aluminum nitrates by ammonium carbonate at temperature 50-80 C and pH 6.0-8.0, precipitation process lasting from 3 to 60 min. Precipitation of copper/zinc or copper/zinc/aluminum compound is performed onto preliminarily precipitated zinc/aluminum stabilizer. Process is carried out by continuously feeding solutions into reactor system comprising one or several reactors and continuously withdrawing suspension from the system, average residence time in reaction zone not exceeding 60 min.
