FIELD: production of mineral fibers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing refractory fibrous articles applied as heat-insulation material in high-temperature technics and when constructing metal smelting assemblies. In a conventional method, raw material is melted in electrical furnace, melt is tapped through water-cooled channel, overblown by an energy carrier, and mineral-wool mat is formed. According to invention, raw material is melted in high-frequency induction furnace at 1750-1850 C, and melt is overblown into fibers by air compressed to 0.45-0.6 MPa.
