FIELD: methods for production of superfine basalt fibers. SUBSTANCE: method includes melting of lump material from basalt rocks in induction furnace at temperature of 1950-2000 C. Then fibers are formed by blowing up the vertical stream of melt by jet of energy carrier in blowing-up head with subsequent settling on withdrawing conveyor in chamber of fiber formation. In this case, temperature of melt stream is reduced down to 1450-1500 C by supplying the melt onto cast iron trough installed before blowing-up head. EFFECT: higher quality of fiber with diameter of 0.1-2 mm and length up to 40 mm with low content of nonfibrous impurities. 2 dwg
