FIELD: mining industry; applicable in direct, in-situ generation of electric power in operation of methane-bearing coal deposits by combined methane drainage and coal gasification in situ. SUBSTANCE: method includes formation of coal panels-blocks. Novelty consists in that simultaneously with gasification and/or coal burning on one panels, degassing with suction of methane is accomplished on the other neighboring panels. Sucked methane is mixed with generated gas before supply to gas turbine provided with electric generator. Panels of coal mass are successively degassed and then subjected to gasification. EFFECT: higher efficiency in production of electric and/or heat energy due to combined use of methane and generated gas. 4 cl, 4 dwg
