METHOD OF VACUUM DRYING OF LOOSE MATERIALS AND PLANT FOR REALIZATION OF THIS METHOD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: vacuum drying of loose and granulated materials in various industries (chemical and food-processing industries, farming). SUBSTANCE: magnitude of period of constant and falling rate of drying is regulated through change of speed of motion of transportation members of conveyer; quantity of energy delivered to product depends on availability of bound moisture contained in it and is regulated by infrared radiation power and temperature of heating plate; degree of heating of this plate decreases in way of motion of conveyer belt to maintain temperature of product at constant level during its motion stipulated by thermolability of material. Plant used for realization of this method includes housing with evacuation and vapor discharge system and transportation device mounted inside it. Transportation device is made in form of two conveyers mounted one under other. Plant includes heating elements, loading and unloading devices. Transportation member of upper conveyer is made in form of hinged members arranged in row and secured rotatably. When these members are located in drying zone, they are positioned on tracks forming continuous carrying surface. Belt of lower conveyer is provided with transverse scrapers over entire length. Infrared radiators of different power and heating plates are used as heating elements. Heating plate is additionally mounted under conveyer and its temperature may be regulated towards reduction in way of motion of conveyer belt. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg
