RESPIRATOR Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: devices for protecting individual's respiratory organs from aerosols and dust hazardous for individual's health. SUBSTANCE: respirator has replaceable filtering member and reusable extractor. Filtering member is made in the form of hemisphere with tray-shaped obturator extending along its perimeter. Filtering member is attached to extractor by means of two semicircular beads. Extractor has ring composed of plastic tape and aluminum arced strip, which are connected one with another. Shape of ring allows ring inner surface to adhere to obturator along its length. Plastic portion of ring is provided with four arced slots for fastening two flexible cords and two T-shaped slots for fastening filtering member. Slots are positioned in diametrically opposed points of ring and in symmetry with aluminum strip serving as nose squeezing plate. To employ respirator, user places replaceable filtering member into extractor, inserts filtering member beads into T-shaped slots of extractor, puts lower flexible cord on neck, applies filtering member to face so that nose squeezing plate lies onto bridge of nose, with chin being in lower part of filtering member, puts on upper flexible fastening member onto nape of neck and squeezes nose plate in accordance with nose shape. Optimum adjoining of filtering member to face is provided by adjusting length of fastening members in arced slots of extractor. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction. 3 dwg
