FIELD: equipment for protecting respiratory organs of individuals working under hazardous working conditions. SUBSTANCE: respirator has expiration valve, nose clamp, carcass, obturator, headband with fastening members, semimask manufactured from blank formed as part of round ring having large and small radii ratio of 2-2.5:1, respectively, filtering layer folded in 2.1-2.2 turns to form truncated cone, and sorption-absorption layer folded in 1.1-1.2 turns, with sorption-absorption layer being disposed between filtering layers. Covering material is disposed on outer surface of semimask, and semielastic carcass is arranged within semimask. The whole assembly is fixed by means of expiration valve protective shield. Method involves cutting flat blank layers of filtering and sorption-absorption materials formed as parts of round rings of required size; assembling semimask on template by juxtaposing layers: filtering layer in 1.1-1.2 turns, sorption-absorption layer in 1.1-1.2 turns and remaining filtering layer; laying covering material; fixing obturator and headband; attaching assembly on carcass by protective shield of expiration valve. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced generation of heat and moisture under semimask, improved protective qualities and ergonomic characteristics. 3 cl, 5 dwg
