SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development of new chemical compounds showing HYPOGLYCEMIC effect - new complex system of oxovanadium (IV) (vanadyl) with malic acid of the formula: where a: R - H; b: R - Na. Synthesis is carried out from oxovanadyl (IV) hydroxide and L-malic acid or sodium L-hydromalate. The synthesized complexes Ia and Ib decreased blood glucose concentration in rats with experimental (streptozotocin) diabetes mellitus. Invention relates to new oral antidiabetic agents.
