FIELD: methods and devices for heat treatment of sections, particular, rails. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes rolling of sections at maximum temperature of 1100 C, however, at least, 750 C, with their horizontal and straight installation in plastic metal working. In course of the first cooling operation, cooling is carried out with same local intensity of cooling down to temperature, particular, from 5 to 120 C above Ar3 - alloy temperature. In course of the second cooling operation, heat is removed from rolled stock in longitudinal direction with same local intensity, if viewed in transverse direction, with different intensity, but zones of high cooling intensity are brought in compliance with zones of high mass concentration. In such zones, fine-grained perlite structure is formed free of mertensite. After that, rolled product is cooled down to room temperature. The device for embodiment of the offered method is distinguished by availability of preparation zone A, cooling zone B and final cooling zone C of sections.
