FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves hardening drill head material, shaping semifinished product, making grooves and profiling lateral and front teeth corresponding to pitch using forming instrument, applying protection coating and packing finished drills. Head is produced so that its diameter is less than that of the finished drill operation head by 0.8-1.2 height of lateral tooth. Groove forming, teeth profiling and material hardening are carried out concurrently in moving the forming instrument at 6-30 m/min along trajectory defined by a system of equations. The operation head material hardening is carried out by applying plastic deformation of surface layer having at least 0.05 mm thickness. The process is to be continued until 3 min full operating time is achieved. Cross-shaped front tooth formation is carried out using axially directed instrument. Every drill is packed into individual sterile box. EFFECT: higher performance characteristics, stability; lower price; single use. 4 cl
