FIELD: designs of packed mass-transfer columns for reaction of gas (vapor)-liquid systems intended for processes of absorption, rectification, in particular, for small-tonnage production of chemical reagents of high-purity; may be used in chemical, petrochemical, food and other industries. SUBSTANCE: mass-transfer column with floating packing has vertical cylindrical body with arranged in tiers distributing conical lattices with perforations in the form of arched slots with tangentially directed axes and central holes at tops through which axisymmetrical vertical rod is installed and spot-welded to conical lattices tops. Outer diameter of conical lattices is smaller than inner diameter of body for free passage. The lowest and highest lattices are confined by detents. Poured on each lattice is packing of spherical members made of polymer, porous materials or expanded clay aggregate with density close to density of water. Novelty consists in fastening of distributing conical lattices to vertical rod, restriction of downward motion of lower lattice and upward motion of upper lattice, possibility of transportation of column in assembled state, use of floating packing from spherical members with density close to density of water.
