FIELD: mining concentration industry. SUBSTANCE: it can be used for preliminary concentration and separation of ores containing gold-carrying lumpy components. According to method, sorting of lumps of rock mass is effected according to thermophysical characteristics of surface. For this purpose, lumps are subjected to radiation, response is recorded and lumps are directed according to their response. Super-high frequency radiation is effected with power capacity sufficient for ore lumps to acquire difference of temperature in relation to initial temperature. Recorded as parameters of response is changing of average temperature of lump surface and value indicating nonuniformity of heating lumps on termination of treatment. Dose of radiation, temperature characteristics and values of nonuniformity of lump heating are determined by experiments. EFFECT: high efficiency. 3 cl
