FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: supporting member for post has rectangular box structure which is open at least at one end for location of post. Material of box structure is cut in corner part of box supporting member by horizontal slots distant from each other and made in several axial places for formation of at least two pairs of lugs isolated from each other or flaps of material of box structure wall, one pair of lugs or flaps located entirely in central part of axial dimension of box structure. Free ends of aforesaid lugs or flaps are bent outside from box structure wall to create fixing flanges so that two flanges moving towards each other by means of fastening member such as bolt passing through holes in aforesaid pair of flanges presses lugs or flaps inside in relation to wall of box structure, thus reducing lateral dimensions of supporting box structure in at least two locations or in one location. Material of box structure remains integral in corner portion, except sections where lugs or flanges are located. Supporting member for post is normally provided with means for its fastening on or in supporting surface. For example, elongated member can be attached to supporting box structure which can be driven in ground. EFFECT: high efficiency. 7 cl, 2 dwg
