FIELD: breech-loading mortars. SUBSTANCE: in the mortar with a barrel turning for loading the breechblock is hinge-mounted on the breech piece, and the surfaces of engagement of the breech piece and breechblock are cylindrical. The hinge axis of the breechblock and geometric axes of the engagement cylindrical surfaces of the breech piece and breechblock are parallel to the axis of breechblock turning. In addition, the barrel and breechblock have a mutual coupling and uncoupling device made in the form of a groove on the breechblock open from the front side and a pin on the breech piece that is engageable with the groove on the breech piece. When the barrel is turned up, its pin turns the breechblock relative to the breech piece and brings the breechblock out of the barrel. After the barrel pin comes out of the groove the barrel gets uncoupled from the breechblock and further moves independently up to the stop in the position for loading. When the barrel is lowered the components function in the reverse sequence. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 4 dwg
