FIELD: aiming, in particular, aiming of the vertical sighting plane of observation instrument on laser radiation source. SUBSTANCE: the essence of the invention consists in determination of deflection of the present angular position of the vertical sighting plane of the observation instrument relative to the zero direction, which is the polar axis connected to the platform of the first planar polar coordinate system, whose pole coincides with the axis of rotation of the observation instrument, and in turning of the observation instrument until the deflection becomes less than the preset value; the deflection is determined as the difference between the disturbing action corresponding to the present angular position of the vertical sighting plane of the observation instrument relative to the zero direction and the zero disturbing action corresponding to the angular position of the vertical sighting plane identical to the zero direction; besides, additionally determined is the angular position of the laser radiation source relative to the base direction of the laser radiation sensor, which is the polar axis connected to the platform of the second planar polar coordinate system, whose pole coincides with the pole of the first coordinate system; the value of the disturbing action corresponding to the angular position of the laser radiation source in the second coordinate system is calculated, and the zero disturbing action is substituted for by the disturbing action proportional to the estimate value.
