FIELD: military equipment, in particular non-guided aircraft flares intended for illumination of terrain at night. SUBSTANCE: flare warhead 1 has tail section 2, gas-discharge tube 3, illuminating compound 4 and nose section 5 for accommodation of the parachute system and additional burster charge. The warhead is connected to engine 6 by means of fastening member 7, whose cavity 8 accommodates fuze 9. Fuze body 10 accommodates safety-and-actuating mechanism 11 and burster charge 12 which may be positioned both before and behind of mechanism 11. Body 10 is furnished with holes 13 and 14, has shoulder 17 and is connected to tube 3 by means of threaded calibrated connection 18. Engine 6 is thread-joined to fastening member 7. At operation of the device charge 12 is inflamed, then the additional burster charge of the parachute system, the parachute system is actuated, the illuminating compound is inflamed, and flare warhead 1 is separated from the engine.
