FIELD: production of medical isotopes in low-power reactors. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with process radioactive material is irradiated in nuclear reactor having power of 100-300 kWt. Obtained mixture is passed first through column with aluminium oxide followed by treatment of medium with chemical reagents and then target isotope is sorbed in ion exchanger. In compliance with process radioactive material in fed into 100-300 kWt nuclear reactor in the form of fine particles, fission products are removed from reactor by gas flow and target isotope is isolated from gas flow. For isolation of isotope gas flow is passed through layer of adsorbent absorbing gas, adsorbed fission products are transformed to aqueous solution, aqueous solution is passed through column with aluminium oxide that is later treated with chemical reagents and obtained solution is passed through ion exchanger to isolate target isotope. Uranium-235 or uranium 233 or plutonium-239 is used as radioactive material, molybdenum-99 is produced in the capacity of target isotope. Activated coal or carbon is used predominantly as adsorbent. Usage of 100-300 kWt reactor makes it possible to produce medical isotopes of high purity. EFFECT: simplified process of production of high-purity medical isotopes. 24 cl
