FIELD: electronics. SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus incorporates rectifier of network voltage, power transistor, power choke connected to shunting diode, voltage multiplier for ignition of gaseous-discharge lamp connected to power choke through diode of voltage multiplier. It has saturating current transformer to form current pulse of base of power transistor. First winding of current transformer is placed between collector of power transistor and power choke. Diodes connected in series so that they unblank with blanking of power transistor are placed in parallel to first winding. Second winding of current transformer is connected between emitter and base of power transistor through bias circuit composed of resistor and diode connected in series, capacitor being connected in parallel to them. Output of unit controlling magnetic inductance of current transformer and current of power choke that forms pulse of current unblanking power transistor at time moment when current transformer is demagnetized to residual induction and current of power choke is equal to zero is connected to point of connection of second winding of current transformer and bias circuit. Output of pulse generator of initial start is also connected to same point. EFFECT: improved operational characteristics and reliability of apparatus. 5 dwg
