FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: high-frequency starting and control gear has power unit, starting assembly, half-bridge transistor inverter, inductor-capacitor ballast circuit, discharge lamp firing assembly, and current transformer whose first and second windings are connected to base and emitter circuits of first and second transistors, respectively, and third winding is inserted between collector of first transistor and input of ballast circuit; capacitor is connected between point of connection of second winding and base circuit of second transistor and one of power buses. EFFECT: reduced change-over loss of transistors and improved stability of inverter oscillation frequency due to additional locking of time delay between turn-off moment of one transistor and turn-on moment of other one caused by reversal of polarity of transformer core by recharge current of newly introduced capacitor. 3 cl, 1 dwg
