FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to stone-working industry and can be used for producing facing tiles from blocks of natural stone. According to method, block of natural stone is sawn into blanks in the form of bar which is edged by disk saws installed in parallel. Then stone bar is subjected to grinding by abrasive wheel and is glued to liner. Stone bar is cut by diamond cross-cut saw with internal cutting edge, and set of two tiles is created which is machined on double-side grinding and polishing machines. Aforesaid method ensures higher productivity and allows for production of stone tiles as thin as 1 mm. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
