GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; spark ignition internal combustion engines operating on gaseous fuel. SUBSTANCE: gas supply system has supply device with checking of amount of gaseous fuel delivered to zone close to ignition source. This zone has precombustion area located in separate precombustion chamber which is arranged in direct proximity with ignition source and which is directly coupled through hole with combustion chamber arranged in engine cylinder. Gaseous fuel supply device has first and second supply channels to deliver controlled amount of gaseous fuel to precombustion zone into combustion chamber, respectively, from common gas injector. It has device to control gas flow to provide relative proportions of gaseous fuel delivered by first and second supply devices, respectively. With engine operating, combustion of fuel in combustion chamber takes place with minimum amount of gaseous fuel which is provided by initiation of ignition of gaseous fuel in above indicated precombustion zone.
