FIELD: wind-power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed for generation of electric energy for industrial and other purposes. Rotor of windmill has vertical hollow shaft with blades of windwheel attached to it, fitted with fairing that protects windwheel against atmospheric precipitation and capable of turn to meet contrary wind by means of air vane and electric motor drive. Fairing has inlet to trap windstream through which wind is directed to windmill. Spent air goes out of rotor through outlet hole of fairing. Inlet and outlet parts of fairing are manufactured in the form of horns that are designed for increase of wind pressure on blades of windwheel at low velocities of wind which enhances efficiency of windmill. Inlet and outlet holes of fairing are provided with rotary dampers which are able to control automatically wind pressure acting on blades of windwheel at hurricane velocities of wind.
