FIELD: heat abstraction from foundation in permafrost. SUBSTANCE: thermosiphon 10 uses a sealed container filled with volatile liquid 15. The container has condensation section 20, which is subjected to the effect of temperatures that are below the liquid condensing temperature, and evaporation section 30, in which this liquid should boil. Evaporation section 30 is a two-pipe construction with feed pipe 32 and drain pipe 34 connected to each other in the most distant point from condensation section 20. Drain pipe 34 has vertical section 36 with hole 40 on one end placed inside the feed pipe and having a considerably smaller cross-section area as compared with the surrounding pipe. The pipes may have both ascending and descending sections, but holes 40 in the vertical section of the drain pipe are located considerably higher than these sections of pipes 32,34 so that hydrostatic pressure makes the liquid in evaporation section 30 flow from feed pipe 32 to drain pipe 34, when the liquid in evaporation section 30 produces bubbles and flows out from hole 40 in the vertical section of the drain pipe. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 7 cl, 1 dwg
