FIELD: determination of dynamic characteristics of buildings and structures. SUBSTANCE: vibrations of tested structure are excited on natural frequency by action on it of train of impact momenta. Momenta are created by reactive force of at least one pulse exciter that is placed on structure and is forming pulsating controlled gas stream. First one force exciter as minimum is positioned in antinode of calculated shape of natural vibrations of structure and structure is subjected to action of calibrated impact momentum. Actual form of natural vibrations and arrangement of its antinodes are determined with the use of vibration transducers put on structure. Value and form of impact momentum necessary for realization of actual shape of natural vibrations are found and program of control over force exciter is corrected. Sought-for natural tone of vibrations of structure is isolated and sequence of impact momenta with corrected parameters is used to act on structure in antinode of vibrations.
