FIELD: measurement of motion parameters for separate determination of total vector of linear velocity of airplanes, rockets, space vehicles, and other objects moving in magnetic field of Earth or other celestial bodies. SUBSTANCE: method involves determination of vector of Earth magnetic-field flux density at point of movement of object, measurement of potential difference across ends of metering conductor placed on object, calculation of object speed vector component relative to magnetic field. Three vector components of Earth magnetic field flux density are measured on object in rectangular coordinate system $$$ associated with moving object; potential differences across ends of three metering conductors are measured with each of conductors placed along one of axes $$$, then object speed vector components $$$ are calculated in body-axis coordinate system. After that, angles of yaw, roll, and pitch of body-axis coordinate system are found relative to inertial coordinate system $$$, and values of angles obtained and of $$$ are used to calculate components $$$ of object speed vector in inertial coordinate system. Potential difference measurements should be better made across ends of three metering conductors placed inside closed conducting enclosure permeable for magnetic field.
