FIELD: flax processing equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding flax mass and conveying it by gripping members of drum-type flax straw breaker; supplying flax in the form of oriented mass to breaking edges with following directing through gaps of comb and guiding through annular gap tangentially to drum-type flax straw breaker; passing flax mass with partially removed scutch axially through flax straw breaker provided with filament fine cleaning apparatus, which has elongate rotor; conveying flax mass through different stations for mellowing processing, separating of scutch and cleaning. Machine has frame 2 carrying conveying devices, receiving-accumulating device 13, flax processing device and filament accumulator. Flax processing device has at least two rotor-type breakers 10 and 11 providing tangential throwing of flax. Shafts of breakers are arranged in parallel one with another in transverse plane. Breakers have nonrotating working member. Rotary working member of front breaker 10 has plate members mounted on shaft in axially spaced relation. Rear breaker 11 has rotary and nonrotating working members radially spaced one relative to another. Filament fine cleaning rotary flax straw breaker 12 is arranged behind rear breaker. Longitudinal rotor of breaker 12 has several axial stations with conveying and mellowing devices providing scutch separation and filament cleaning.
