FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: processing of stock fed into scotching zone is carried out by consecutively arranged scutchers with plate length not larger than 300 mm. Note here that every scutcher has its rate mode subject to properties of scutched material.
EFFECT: differentiation of bast fiber stock depending upon conditions of seasoning and moisture content over length smaller than that of scutching.
