FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: scutching machine has two working sections, clamping conveyance device, tapping mechanism positioned between sections. Each section has pair of working drums, with shell surface of each drum having conical portion and cylindrical portion adjoining widened part of conical portion. Radial and longitudinal beating planks are mounted on cylindrical portions and conical portions, with eight beating planks on each portion. Each second beating plank of conical portion is offset relative to adjacent plank by distance equal to half its length toward cylindrical portion. One end of remaining four cylindrical portions and end of conical portion are positioned in common plane. Each beating plank has plated member attached along working surface at an angle of 90 deg to plank. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 4 dwg
