FIELD: enterprises of petroleum production and petroleum refining branches of industry, automobile operating companies and other industrial installations, where sewage containing petroleum products is formed. SUBSTANCE: water purification device uses a cylindrical body separated by partitions into three chambers: the upper chamber with a layer of petroleum products, the middle and lower chambers with inlet connection for water to be purified, purified water outlet connection and petroleum product outlet connection, and a coalescent element; it is furnished with a pipe-line system positioned before the device and distribution device positioned in the middle chamber. The water inlet connection is located in the upper part of the body and connected to the pipe-line system and distribution device, using a T-shaped pipe whose transverse part is furnished with a system of perforated branch pipes plugged on the end face, positioned horizontally and perpendicularly to the transverse part of the T-shaped pipe. The upper and lower partitions are made as perforated plates. The middle chamber is filled with fibrous oleophylic material preliminarily impregnated with petroleum products, the lower chamber is furnished with a fiberglass screen dividing the lower chamber into two zones, of which the upper zone is partially filled with fibrous oleophobic material. The coalescent element is positioned in the system of pipe-lines and made of oleophylic interwoven fibers. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
