FIELD: petroleum and chemical industries at gravity sedimentation of emulsions and suspensions. SUBSTANCE: organization of convective motion in a disperse medium so that it would coincide with the direction of motion of the disperse phase. To this end, liquid is heated in the lateral part of the sedimentation tank, when the disperse phase is heavier than the disperse medium, or in the lower part of the sedimentation tank, when the disperse phase is lighter than the disperse medium. EFFECT: enhanced speed of the disperse phase by the value of the convective motion speed, which enhances the rate sedimentation by several times, enhanced capacity of sedimentation tanks. 1 dwg
